Weekly Watch Focus: Fasting for an Open Heaven in 2011
FRIDAY, JANUARY 14, 2011. As we enter the New Year, we are appointing some days for corporate fasting and repentance, humbly asking God for an Open Heaven in 2011. For our children, our churches, our cities and America and Israel we are crying out for the Lord’s presence, protection and provision for each day of this New Year. We especially ask for protection for our president, senators, congressmen and all who serve us in law enforcement and the armed forces.
Ezra 8:21-23, “Then I proclaimed a fast there at the river of Ahava, that we might humble ourselves before our God, to seek from Him the right way for us and our little ones and all our possessions. For I was ashamed to request of the king an escort of soldiers and horsemen to help us against the enemy on the road, because we had spoken to the king, saying, ‘The hand of our God is upon all those for good who seek Him, but His power and His wrath are against all those who forsake Him.’ So we fasted and entreated our God for this, and He answered our prayer.”
2 Chron. 7:14, “if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”
Ex 33:15-16, “Then he said to Him, ‘If Your Presence does not go with us, do not bring us up from here. For how then will it be known that Your people and I have found grace in Your sight, except You go with us? So we shall be separate, Your people and I, from all the people who are upon the face of the earth.’”
Matt 17:21 21, “However, this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting.”
Deut. 33:25, “Your sandals shall be iron and bronze; As your days, so shall your strength be.” |
