Weekly Watch Focus: Pray for Economic Recovery

FRIDAY, September 30, 2011.

We honor and wish our readers L’Shana Tova – Blessings of the Hebrew New Year be upon you.

America is presently under a yoke of economic depression. Even with the world’s largest economy, we spend more than we take in, resulting in a spiraling national debt. Millions of our countrymen cannot find a job.  Pray for national economic recovery. Pray for change at every level of government.   May the Lord give us leaders who will honor wise, biblical principles in shaping our laws, policies, and government spending. Pray we will steward the energy resources in our nation so our national treasure is not drained away to enrich dictators overseas. Pray specifically for the people you know who are seeking employment, that they will receive favor in their search. This is the hour to repent and cry out to the Lord for national, economic, and moral restoration.

Ps. 37:25, “I have been young, and now am old; yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his descendants begging bread.”

Phil. 4:19, “And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”

Joel 1:14, “Consecrate a fast, call a sacred assembly; gather the elders and all the inhabitants of the land into the house of the Lord your God, and cry out to the Lord.”

Joel 2:18, 23-25, “Then the Lord will be zealous for His land, and pity His people. The Lord will answer and say to His people, “Behold, I will send you grain and new wine and oil, and you will be satisfied by them; I will no longer make you a reproach among the nations. Be glad then, you children of Zion, and rejoice in the Lord your God; for He has given you the former rain faithfully, and He will cause the rain to come down for you— the former rain, and the latter rain in the first month. The threshing floors shall be full of wheat, and the vats shall overflow with new wine and oil. So I will restore to you the years that theswarming locust has eaten.”

Prov 22:7. “The rich rules over the poor, and the borrower is a slave to the lender.”

Is 48:17, “I am the Lord your God, who teaches you to profit, who leads you by the way you should go.”

Let us intercede for Pastor Yousef Nadarkhani. Iranian authorities have condemned him to die if he will not recant his faith in Jesus Christ. He was born of Islamic heritage, but at age 16 he received Christ. He is a godly, humble pastor who just wanted the government to give him freedom to teach his Christian faith to his children instead of being forced to raise them in Islamic beliefs. His case was brought to trial, and instead of ruling on his rights to teach his children, he was arrested and condemned to die for his faith. The court has decided to sentence him to be executed this week. Praythat the blood of the martyrs will rise before God, and that this will be aseason of a release of great outpouring of the Spirit of the Lord over Iran(formerly called Persia).

Rev. 12:11, “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not lovetheir lives to the death.”
