Weekly Watch Focus: Sabbath Rest

Friday, August 11, 2017 - “And He said to them, ‘Come aside by yourselves to a deserted place and rest a while’” Mark 6:31.

Our spiritual father, Derek Prince, used to say, “Take the Sabbath, or the Sabbath will take you.” In this season when many take family vacations, pray for a time of rest, refreshing, and strengthening in the Lord. Put a prayer shield of protection and safety over all travelers. Ask the Lord for Sabbath rest and a fresh breath of His re-creating Spirit to give fresh vision, ideas, and empowerment for the coming year.

Exodus 20:8-10, “Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord your God. In it you shall do no work: you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates.”

Psalm 4:8, “I will both lie down in peace, and sleep; for You alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety.”

Exodus 33:14, “And he said, “My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.”
