Weekly Watch Focus: Pray for Houston and Surrounding Area

FRIDAY, September 1, 2017—Pray for the people recovering from hurricane Harvey and the devastating floods in Houston, southeast Texas, and surrounding areas. Record rainfall inundated the coast, leaving Houston and the surroundingregion under water. First responders and volunteers rescued thousands from flooded homes and rooftops. Over twenty lives have been lost, and hundreds of thousands of others have had to evacuate their homes, many which were destroyed. Pray for those who have suffered loss of life and homes. Thank the Lord for the thousands of volunteers, first responders, local and federal agencies who have mobilized to help the people of Texas in this crisis. May the Lord bless and strengthen them. Pray also for Christian organizations who are providing emergency aid and disaster relief. Pray for grace, wisdom and provision to restore Houston and the entire region devastated by this powerful storm and catastrophic flooding. Bind back further destruction from Harvey and its aftermath. Ask for turn-around and restoration for the region. Pray for the waters to recede and protection from disease. We ask for the God of all comfort surround every family affected by this tragedy in His peace and presence. God Bless Texas!
