Watch Report – December 3, 2010 (Metro Watch)

Theme: "Got Joy?"

Watch Focus – End the Year in Rejoicing!

The Metro Watch theme was “Joy!” The watch leaders used music, audio-visual presentations, demonstrations, and other special effects to provide a backdrop to bring forth a message of hope.  The Watch leaders also captured the essence of the Watch focus’ themes of aggressive praise, joy, and thanksgiving as the key to binding back depression and anxiety and to releasing expectant prayers for miracles for our families and communities. (Isa 61:3 To console those who mourn in Zion, To give them beauty for ashes, The oil of joy for mourning, The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; That they may be called trees of righteousness, The planting of the LORD, that He may be glorified.”)

We started the Watch with the Scripture in John where Jesus spoke to His followers about His desire to impart to them the fullness of His joy.  After some special prayers for the fires in Israel, and for healing for some critical needs, we entered into joyous praise and worship.  One watchmen testified about the goodness of the Lord and what great lengths the Lord goes to express His love – even in simple things like a Grandma’s kisses and the sweetness of a favorite candy.  So he challenged us to see Jesus in everything – to love on Him, focus on Him. He said that small beams of light break the yoke of oppression and release mighty rushing waters. This testimony, and the worship that followed, filled the atmosphere with the Presence of the Lord; and in that atmosphere the healing team began to minister to folks present who were battling anxiety and depression – one woman testified that she received instant deliverance!

The Watch continued with video clips, testimonies, dreams, worship, and prayers about joy and laughter.  A special prayer was offered up for restoration of broken family relationships and for household salvation and the watchmen present prayed for each other’s families, two-by-two.  The fervency and passion of these prayers caused the room to fill even more with the knowing that Jesus indeed IS the answer.

Joy comes as you reach out to give to others. We were challenged to find ways to bless others often – examples given were to buy the person-behind-you a coffee or burger the next time you are in a drive-thru or at a check-out counter.

The Watch ended with a powerful time of communion. Worship then exploded and folks were called forward for salvation, healing, deliverance, and the baptism of the Holy Spirit.  Several people received salvation and were filled with the Holy Spirit.  The Watch that started with a question, “Got Joy?”, ended with an exclamation and a testimony, “Got Joy!”

Prophetic Visions

  • One of the watchmen gave a testimony about a dream that God had given her about going to the land of “Hee Hee and Ha Ha,” like in a Dr Seuss book. The Lord is taking us into a time of rejoicing and joy!
  • Another watchman gave a testimony about God unlocking the combination to the safe which holds joy inside for each of us. We must decide to choose joy!
  • During worship, one watchman had a vision that the Lord was walking amongst the people touching their belly with healing for all that ailed them.

Impression from the Second Watch (12am – 6am)

The tide grew higher and higher as the Spirit of God was ushered in by the praise in the sanctuary as in Ezekiel 47:4-8: “Again he measured one thousand and brought me through the waters; the water came up to my knees. Again he measured one thousand and brought me through; the water came up to my waist. Again he measured one thousand, and it was a river that I could not cross; for the water was too deep, water in which one must swim, a river that could not be crossed. He said to me, ‘Son of man, have you seen this?’ Then he brought me and returned me to the bank of the river. When I returned, there, along the bank of the river, were very many trees on one side and the other. Then he said to me: ‘This water flows toward the eastern region, goes down into the valley, and enters the sea. When it reaches the sea, its waters are healed.’”
