Weekly Watch Focus: Conclusion of our Corporate Fast—We Pray, "Come Holy Spirit"

FRIDAY, September 22, 2017—As we conclude our corporate fast, we cry out to God on behalf of ourselves, our family, our church and our nation. Lord, pour out Your Spirit across this land. Breathe afresh on our nation and awaken us to Your glory. Touch every realm of our lives so that we and our children can take back the land. Renew Your Church and anoint us to bring Your Kingdom wherever we go with signs, wonders, and miracles. We bind the spirits of antichrist and witchcraft that are corrupting our culture, our values, and our politics. We aggressively plead the blood of Jesus over ourselves, our families, our churches and our cities. Thank you Lord for the outpourings you have given us in the past. Do it again, Lord, and bring revival to our land.

Eph. 5:14, "Awake, O sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you."

Joel 2:28-29, "And it shall come to pass afterward that I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh; your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions. And also on My menservants and on My maidservants I will pour out My Spirit in those days.”

Acts 2:16-18, "But this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel: "And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, that I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh; your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your young men shall see visions, your old men shall dream dreams. And on My menservants and on My maidservants I will pour out My Spirit in those days; and they shall prophesy."

Ps. 90:16, "Let Your work be shown to Your servants, and Your glorious power to their children."

Part 2: Feast of Trumpets and Days of Awe

This week we entered the Jewish New Year (Rosh Hashanah), with the blowing of the shofar. It is the year 5778 on the Hebrew Calendar, We declare the double sweetness of the Lord for you in this new year. We are also now in the appointed time of the 10 Days of Awe leading up to the holiest day of the year, Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement. We honor the Judeo-Christian foundations that have guided this blessed nation, and repent of any spirit of arrogance, pride, and rebellion. Thank the Lord for the finished, atoning work of Jesus at Calvary. In solidarity with our Jewish friends around the world, pray for God’s blessing and peace during this time of awakening from slumber and turning back to serve the Living God. Speak blessing and protection for Israel and especially Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the Israel Defense Forces. Celebrate the fact that America, for the first time in history, is establishing a permanent American military base in the Negev desert of Israel in cooperation with Israel and the IDF.

Num. 29:1, “And in the seventh month, on the first day of the month, you shall have a holy convocation. You shall do no customary work.  For you it is a day of blowing the trumpets.”

Lev. 23:23-38,  “Then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, ‘Speak to the children of Israel, saying: “In the seventh month, on the first day of the month, you shall have a sabbath-rest, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, a holy convocation. You shall do no customary work on it; and you shall offer an offering made by fire to the Lord.”’ And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying: ‘Also the tenth day of this seventh month shall be the Day of Atonement. It shall be a holy convocation for you; you shall afflict your souls, and offer an offering made by fire to the Lord. And you shall do no work on that same day, for it is the Day of Atonement, to make atonement for you before the Lord your God. For any person who is not afflicted in soul on that same day shall be cut off from his people. And any person who does any work on that same day, that person I will destroy from among his people. You shall do no manner of work; it shall be a statute forever throughout your generations in all your dwellings. It shall be to you a sabbath of solemn rest, and you shall afflict your souls; on the ninth day of the month at evening, from evening to evening, you shall celebrate your sabbath.’”

Isaiah 60:1, “Arise, shine; for your light has come! And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you.”

Psalm 122:6,7, “Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: ‘May they prosper who love you. Peace be within your walls, prosperity within your palaces.’”

Genesis 12:3, “I will bless those who bless you.”

Part 3: Pray for Mexico, Puerto Rico, and the Caribbean

A magnitude 7.1 earthquake struck central Mexico on Tuesday, September 19. More than 225 people have died, including 21 children in a collapsed school. Massive destruction has left countless more trapped in the rubble. Pray for emergency responders who are racing to rescue those buried in the wreckage. Pray for all those grieving the loss of their loved ones. May the Lord send His angels to deliver and comfort those still waiting to be rescued.

We also pray for Puerto Rico, Dominica, Turks and Caicos and the other islands in the path of Hurricane Maria. Latest reports show that Hurricane Maria knocked out all the electricity on the island of Puerto Rico. It is the strongest storm to strike Puerto Rico since 1928. For many islands this is the second major hurricane in two weeks. Bind the destruction of this storm. Pray for the Lord’s protection, deliverance, and comfort. Pray for the resources and provision these islands need to recover from these devastating storms.

Isaiah 43:2, “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, Nor shall the flame scorch you.”

Psalm 60:1b,2, “Oh, restore us again! You have made the earth tremble; You have broken it; Heal its breaches, for it is shaking.”

 Psalm 91
