Weekly Watch Focus: North Korea Summit

June 8, 2018—On June 12, President Donald Trump will hold a denuclearization summit with North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un in Singapore. Cover this event in prayer, asking for wisdom for President Trump, Secretary of State Pompeo, and every other negotiator coming to this historic meeting. Ask for open doors of negotiation to end North Korea’s nuclear program. Pray that this summit will help bring to an end the state of war that has existed in the Korean peninsula for more than sixty years. May it lead to freedom for the people of North Korea and peace and prosperity for the region. May a mighty wave of revival come to the Korean people, North and South. Pray for protection for President Trump and his team.

Part 2: Pray for Guatemala

This week in Guatemala, the first of a series of explosions sent a flood of ash and vapor streaming down the Fuego volcano. The unexpected erruption and fast moving flow caught people off-guard. Surrounding towns and villages are covered in ash, homes are destroyed, more than 200 people are missing, and ninety-nine are confirmed dead. Some areas are still too hot for rescuers to search.  Pray for the Guatemalan people as they mourn their loss in this national tragedy. Pray for protection for those searching for survivors and recovering victims. May the Lord comfort the thousands of families grieving for their lost loved ones.

Continue to pray for Hawaii where the volcano Kilauea began erupting on May 3. For the past month, lava flows, ash, and toxic gasses have destroyed homes, neighborhoods, and forced the evacuation of thousands of people. Pray for protection for the inhabitants and responders. Pray for those displaced by the eruption, and pray for shalom.
