Weekly Watch Focus: Hurricane Florence Recovery, Feast of Tabernacles, Judge Brett Kavanaugh

FRIDAY, September 21, 2018—Pray for the people in North and South Carolina recovering from hurricane Florence and the devastating floods that have overwhelmed New Bern, Wilmington, and surrounding areas. Record rainfall inundated the coast, leaving entire cities and neighborhoods under water. First responders and volunteers rescued hundreds from flooded homes. Major roadways were shut down and many rivers had not yet crested. At the time of this writing, twenty-three lives have been lost. Pray for those who have suffered loss of life and homes. Thank the Lord for the thousands of volunteers, first responders, and local and federal agencies who have mobilized to help in this crisis. May the Lord bless and strengthen them. Pray also for the organizations who are providing emergency aid and disaster relief. Pray for the waters to recede and protection from disease. We ask for the God of All Comfort to surround every family affected by this tragedy in His peace, presence, and provision.

Part 2: Feast of Tabernacles

As we conclude our corporate fast, we thank the Lord for our many blessings. We thank the Lord again for the great turn-around in our economy. We thank the Lord for His Word and His Spirit. We rejoice in our salvation, as Israel celebrates the Feast of Tabernacles with great joy. In solidarity with our Jewish friends around the world, we pray God’s blessings and shalom on Israel.

We pray once again that God give us strength and grace to solidify our Judeo-Christian foundations. May He generously pour His living waters over His Church as He promised on the Great day of the Feast! May His glory shine over every family. Chag Sameach!

Part 3: Judge Brett Kavanaugh

Pray for Judge Kavanaugh and his family. This week an accusation was launched against Judge Kavanaugh. Let us pray for God’s light to shine on this situation, bringing His truth, binding back every false voice, and binding the spirit of witchcraft that would come to disrupt our justice system. Pray for the Spirit of wisdom that rested on Solomon to anoint our leaders to cut through this dispute and settle all questions.
