Weekly Watch Focus: Rosh Hashanah—We Honor the Feasts of the Lord

FRIDAY, September 27, 2019—The Jewish New Year (Rosh Hashanah) and the Ten Days of Awe begin Sunday evening with the blowing of the shofar. We are entering the appointed time on the Hebrew calendar leading up to the holiest day of the year, Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement. As Jews celebrate these feasts, may we join them in a season of remembrance, repentance, and the blowing of the shofar, ushering in new waves of His visitation and victory.  The themes of Rosh Hashanah arouses our hearts in preparation of the holiest day of the year, Yom Kippur. Pray for revival and repentance so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord because of what Christ has done for us on Calvary. In solidarity with our Jewish friends around the world, we pray for God’s blessing and peace during this time of awakening from slumber and turning from transgression back to serve the Living God. Pray for renewal of Judeo-Christian foundations. Release angels over Israel and pray for peace and protection from her enemies. Especially cover the nation following the recent Parliamentary elections. Pray for God’s favor and success as Prime Minister Netanyahu works with members to form a new government that will continue to bring security and prosperity for the sake of future generations. Lord, give Israel leaders such that it would be to Your glory to give them the victory!
