Take Heart

 “There stood by me this night an angel of the God to whom I belong and whom I serve, saying, ‘Do not be afraid, Paul; you must be brought before Caesar; and indeed God has granted you all those who sail with you’” (Acts 27:23-24).

We are never alone. Paul’s confidence was in the Captain of Armies who guided his life through the storm. As he prayed and fasted in the hold of the ship, angelic intervention was loosed into the situation. Angels are God’s supernatural, glory force. They carry the glory from God’s throne into our circumstances. The unique wisdom of God is that holy angels are assigned to His people and while angels have limited authority, God’s people do not. And though we are limited in our bodies, God’s angels are not. God’s people and His angels work together to perform His will in heaven and earth through vigilant prayer and faithful obedience. When we are in a battle, the anointed word of the Lord will loose angels and secure victory. Sometimes, we have to keep striking the arrow of victory with our prayers until we see the breakthrough. Look for angelic intervention and answered prayers in this season.

God! Let the cosmos praise your wonderful ways, the choir of holy angels sing anthems to your faithful ways! Search high and low, scan skies and land, you’ll find nothing and no one quite like God. The holy angels are in awe before him; he looms immense and august over everyone around him. God-of-the-Angel-Armies, who is like you, powerful and faithful from every angle? You put the arrogant ocean in its place and calm its waves when they turn unruly (Psalm 89:5–9 TM).

God desires to open our eyes to the awesome power of His heavenly messengers and awaken His Church to the vital role they play in God’s mission of salvation. The God of Angel Armies commissions heavenly messengers to guard and protect us, assist and deliver us, comfort and strengthen us. As we face natural and spiritual battles, there is an unseen army in company with all who do God’s will. They are His army of heavenly envoys created and commissioned to aid those who call on the name of the Lord. In the midst of a crisis, when it looks as if the enemy of our soul has overwhelmed us, holding onto God’s truth will release these powerful angels into our situations.

So bless God, you angels, ready and able to fly at his bidding (Psalm 103:20, TM).
 

Our obedience to move forward or to hold our ground according to the word of the Lord will loose angels to come to our aid. Take heart, the Lord of Hosts has said, “I will never leave or forsake you.”

O God of Angel Armies, Jehovah Sabaoth, we lift up our voices and pray for angelic help in this battle against coronavirus. We lift up every branch of our government agencies, our President and Vice President and their task force, and every member of our healthcare system and ask for divine help from heaven. We thank you, Lord that this battle is not ours, but Yours! Some trust in horses and some in chariots, but we put our trust in you for the turning of this plague. God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, we pray for every nation that is struggling with this pandemic. Cover our first responders, law enforcement agencies, utility workers, and the thousands of men and women who are working every day to keep supply chains and services running for those of us staying at home. Encourage, strengthen, and protect them.  

For the doctors, nurses, and health workers at every level, we declare there are more that are with us than are against us. Send angelic help to hospitals, clinics, and treatment centers. I pray specifically for (insert names of healthcare professionals you know personally). Lord, strengthen. Lord, protect. Lord give grace and help in time of need for (insert name). I thank you for Your victory.

As we corporately set aside Thursdays to fast and pray, Lord, we bind the strongman behind this pandemic. We bind social and economic chaos. We bind fear and anxiety. Lord, loose Your angel armies to do war against the principality behind coronavirus. Bring every demonic plan to sow destruction and strife to naught. Lord, let the shaking taking place among the nations become the catalyst for a mighty wave of deliverance, healing, and revival harvest.
