A Call to Fast and Pray: Heal Our Land, Transform Our Destiny
“A seven day fast will change your destiny.” – Derek Prince
Friday, September 4, 2020 — We call a FORTY DAY CORPORATE FAST, beginning this coming Tuesday, September 8, running through October 17, 2020.
2 Chronicles 7:14, “If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”
We began this year with a forty day fast laying hold of the prophetic word the Lord revealed to us for 2020, the LORD OUR BANNER OF VICTORY. We had no way of knowing then the spiritual battle that would erupt between the forces of darkness and the Spirit of God. But the Lord knew. Now, as we approach the national elections in the United States, and as we witness a rising of wickedness and violence in our nation and others, we are called afresh as WATCHMEN ON THE WALLS.
Nehemiah 4:7-9, “Now it happened, when Sanballat, Tobiah, the Arabs, the Ammonites, and the Ashdodites heard that the walls of Jerusalem were being restored and the gaps were beginning to be closed, that they became very angry, and all of them conspired together to come and attack Jerusalem and create confusion. Nevertheless we made our prayer to our God, and because of them we set a watch against them day and night.”
The spirit of the world rages like never before against the Lord and His elect, but we stand in the gap for our nation and the nations of the earth and petition the Lord to pour out His Spirit like never before, free us from darkness, heal our land, and release the next GREAT AWAKENING. We battle not against flesh and blood, but against powers and principalities, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places! (Ephesians 6:12)
2 Chronicles 20:15, “Thus says the Lord to you: ‘Do not be afraid nor dismayed because of this great multitude, for the battle is not yours, but God’s.”
Acts 4:29-30, "Now, Lord, look on their threats, and grant to Your servants that with all boldness they may speak Your word, by stretching out Your hand to heal, and that signs and wonders may be done through the name of Your holy Servant Jesus.”
Together we turn away from evil and rebellion through this season of humbling, NATIONAL REPENTANCE, and fasting and claim the promise of the Lord to deliver us, heal our land, and change our destiny to align with His righteous plans. May the Lord hear from heaven, heed our prayer, forgive our sins, and heal our land according to 2 Chronicles 7:14. We speak the strong name of the Lord, Captain of Armies, and call on Him to shelter us under His protective wings. May He prosper us! “May God arise, may His enemies be scattered” (Psalm 68:1).
In the coming six weeks we will apply focused intercession to six areas: (1) America, We Turn to God, (2) Supernatural Healing and Deliverance from Coronavirus, (3) Bind the Strongman of Witchcraft and Mob Violence, (4) Economic Recovery, (5) National Elections, (6) Bless Israel.
We STAND TOGETHER corporately as one body, with each member raising a shield for the other. Matthew 18:18-20 says, “Assuredly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.”
* There is not a need for you as an individual to fast a full forty days. Feel free to participate in this fast at the level and intensity that is comfortable for you. You may do a partial fast, skip one meal a day on your fasting days, or a Daniel fast (fruits and vegetables). Ask the Lord how He would have you participate. For more specifics on fasting, please see our classic book, The Hidden Power of Prayer & Fasting.
Psalm 20:5, “We will rejoice in your salvation, and in the name of our God we will set up our banners! May the Lord fulfill all your petitions.”
Isaiah 58:6, 8, “Is this not the fast that I have chosen: to loose the bonds of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, to let the oppressed go free, and that you break every yoke? …Then your light shall break forth like the morning, your healing shall spring forth speedily, and your righteousness shall go before you; the glory of the Lord shall be your rear guard. Then you shall call, and the Lord will answer; you shall cry, and He will say, “Here I am.”
I Timothy 2:1-4, “Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth."
Luke 8:24, "Then He arose and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water. And they ceased, and there was a calm."
Psalm 37:39-40, “But the salvation of the righteous is from the Lord; He is their strength in the time of trouble. And the Lord shall help them and deliver them; He shall deliver them from the wicked, and save them, because they trust in Him.”
Isaiah 54:17, “’No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue which rises against you in judgment you shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is from Me,’ says the Lord.”
Psalm 5:8-12, “Lead me, O Lord, in Your righteousness because of my enemies; make Your way straight before my face. For there is no faithfulness in their mouth; their inward part is destruction; their throat is an open tomb; they flatter with their tongue. Pronounce them guilty, O God! Let them fall by their own counsels; cast them out in the multitude of their transgressions, for they have rebelled against You. But let all those rejoice who put their trust in You; let them ever shout for joy, because You defend them; let those also who love Your name be joyful in You. For You, O Lord, will bless the righteous; with favor You will surround him as with a shield."
Psalm 91:5-6, “You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, nor of the arrow that flies by day, nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday.”
Psalm 125:2, “As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the Lord surrounds His people from this time forth and forever.”
Exodus 18:21, “Moreover you shall select from all the people able men, such as fear God, men of truth, hating covetousness; and place such over them to be rulers of thousands, rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens.”
Isaiah 33:22, “For the Lord is our Judge, the Lord is our Lawgiver, the Lord is our King; He will save us.”
Proverbs 8:15, “By me kings reign, and rulers decree justice.”
