Hanukkah, The Lord Our Banner of Victory

This week is the beginning of the Jewish celebration of Hanukkah, marking victory over Israel's enemies and the rededication of the Temple in Jerusalem. The priests only had one small cruse of oil to fuel the menorah. Miraculously, the oil lasted eight days until fresh oil could be sanctified for Temple use.

The miracle of Hanukkah is a prophetic symbol for Jews and Christians across the ages. In the midst of darkness, oppression, and destruction, God has always reserved a remnant of people anointed with His Spirit who will arise as light bearers to bring restoration in their generation. Lord God, as we celebrate your miracle of lights, we pray for a great turnaround in America. Come, King of Glory and open the heavens with signs and wonders, releasing an unprecedented great awakening and dispelling the darkness with the light of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

As we light the candles this Hanukkah, we remember our Jewish brothers and sisters. We pray for the peace of Jerusalem as we celebrate the coming of the Light of the World, the One who give us His Spirit without measure for an ongoing supply.

Exodus 17:15, "And Moses built an altar and called its name, ‘The-Lord-Is-My-Banner.’"

We pray and prophesy the Word that the Lord gave us for this year, “The Lord our banner of victory!” We release angel armies to do battle for the Lord and His people. We release the might of Jesus as Jehovah Sabaoth, the Captain of the Armies of the Lord, over every realm. We plead the blood of Jesus over our families and nation against COVID-19. We thank you for victory in the results of the 2020 elections and bind all evil, false reports, lying, and every unrighteous act of fraud. We loose the angels of God to protect our nation, our President and elected leaders, our gatherings, and the land of our Savior’s birth – Israel.

Isaiah 9:6-7, “For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given; and the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of His government and peace there will be no end, upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, to order it and establish it with judgment and justice from that time forward, even forever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.”

1 Samuel 30:8 “So David inquired of the Lord, saying, ‘Shall I pursue this troop? Shall I overtake them?’ And He answered him, ‘Pursue, for you shall surely overtake them and without fail recover all.’”

Isaiah 60:1-2, “Arise, shine; for your light has come! And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you. For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and deep darkness the people; but the Lord will arise over you, and His glory will be seen upon you.”

Matthew 4:16, “The people who sat in darkness have seen a great light, and upon those who sat in the region and shadow of death light has dawned.”

John 10:22-23, “Now it was the Feast of Dedication in Jerusalem [Hanukkah], and it was winter. And Jesus walked in the temple, in Solomon’s porch.”

2 Corinthians 3:17, “Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.”

Isaiah 61:1-2, “The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me, because the Lord has anointed Me to preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound; to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.”
