Watch Focus - Watchman, What of the Night
“Watchman, what of the night? Watchman, what of the night?” The watchman said, “The morning comes, and also the night. If you will inquire, inquire; Return! Come back!” Isaiah 21:11-12
Isaiah’s prophecy regards nations, particularly Israel and her enemies, under judgment. The watchman sees a treacherous dealer and destroyer coming against the nation, but when a Voice calls out asking what time it is, the watchman says, “It’s almost dawn.” We are encouraged to remain faithful, to stand our post and trust in God’s unfolding plan as omnipotent and sovereign over all. Isaiah sees an anointed Coming Son and Heir of God upon whose shoulders God’s government over creation will rest!
Our watch focus this week is for our national elections.
Psalm 127 says, “Unless the Lord watches over the city, the guards stand watch in vain.” The Psalmist indicates a well built and guarded city exists for the sake of God’s inheritance: CHILDREN.
America is under the influence of ‘treacherous dealers’ and a spiritual destroyer like the ones Isaiah saw. The enemy we face is focused on breaking our connection to the historical foundations of Christian faith and moral influence; of biblical based family; and of economic promise rooted in the ideas of traditional capitalism.
We pray for a GREAT AWAKENING through the preaching of the gospel to touch hearts of men and women in every walk of life, background, and economic sphere.
We pray for TRUTH to prevail over propaganda from our national and social media.
“You shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free.” (John 8:32.)
“…when the Spirit of Truth comes, he will guide you in all truth. He won’t speak on his own, but will say whatever he hears and will proclaim to you what is to come.” (John 16:13.)
Jesus said confronted the power that prevented people from hearing Him. He said they were under the influence of “the father of lies”, Satan, whose “native language” is lying (John 8:44).
We BIND principalities and powers of lying, deception, corruption of language, and all ideologies that contradict Jesus as Lord over all!
We witnessed the miraculous intervention that saved presidential candidate Donald Trump from assassination a few days ago.
We pray for continued PROTECTION over Donald Trump, his family, and his VP JD Vance and family.
We bind the power of MURDER.
“Jesus said to them, “If God were your Father, you would love me, for I have come here from God. I have not come on my own; God sent me. Why is my language not clear to you? Because you are unable to hear what I say. You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.” (John 8:42-44.)
We LOOSE the power of PRAISE and THANKSGIVING for this nation, for our heritage, and for the PROMISE of Christ to save, heal, and deliver.
“Blessed is He who comes in the name of the LORD. From the house of the Lord, we bless you.” Psalm 118:26.
“Blessed are those whose help is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the Lord their God.” Psalm 146:5.
“Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people He chose for his inheritance.” Psalm 133:12.
